Provocateur aspires to be a place where writers and artists feel comfortable sharing their work. A place where one does not have to bow down to censorship on grounds of difference or unconventionality.
Jillian Butler is the founding editor of Provocateur. She holds a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Massachusetts, Boston and is currently working on her Master’s in English with a concentration on Creative Writing and Education. She firmly believes that words open the door to a world of infinite possibilities and acceptance, and that is why she fought so hard to get Provocateur up and running. When she is not writing, reading, or studying, Jillian can be found just North of Boston, in Burlington, MA, where she resides with her wife and daughter.
Jamie Giammarino holds a BS in International Management from Johnson & Wales University and studied Public Administration in the graduate program at The George Washington University. After over a decade of working in the corporate world, she decided to walk away from the familiar surroundings of her career path in order to immerse herself in the world of the written word. She is currently pursuing a MA in English at University of Massachusetts Boston concentrating in Creative Writing, as well as, a Certificate of Archives through the History department. As a member of the LGBTQ community, she has fought tirelessly for equality and is grateful to have been a participant in the many historical strides that have been made.
